Submissions

Please read carefully through the Submission criteria to ensure a smooth and valid submission

Submission Images

  • Artwork images should be high-quality, preferably against a white background, JPEG format and no larger than 1MB in size.
  • Artists can submit up to two supporting images per piece of artwork. The additional image can include a close-up or side view.
  • Any artwork images not following the above criteria will not be accepted.
  • By submitting artwork to The Cot Open, you give permission for your work to be shared by The Cot Open on its website and social media platforms. The artist retains full copyright of the work.

Artist Statement & Bio

Every submission will need to be accompanied by an artist statement. The statement should be a maximum of 250 words, written in the third person. A short biography of key exhibitions & any awards should also be submitted.

Sales

  • All submitted artwork must be available for sale.
  • The Cot Open will take a 30% commission on any sale made during the exhibition. Please price your artwork taking this into account.
  • The selected work should not be for sale on any other platforms during this period

Delivery

  • Selected artwork must be delivered to Weavers Cot, Cot Lane, Biddenden, Kent TN27 8JB on 30 & 31 August only. Any artwork delivered outside of these dates will not be accepted.
  • It is the responsibility of the artist to organise delivery of the work to The Cot. The work can be delivered to The Cot by a courier or representative.
  • All artworks delivered to The Cot Open must be clearly labelled & appropriately packaged. On receipt of delivery a consignment letter will be provided & signed for.
  • The Artist is responsible for the return/collection of any unsold work. The Cot Open will repack any unsold artwork.
  • The Cot Open is not responsible for any loss or damage incurred during the artwork's transit to & from The Cot Open.
